Wow, I've missed alot. Perhaps an indictment is on the way for Don Young also. Hopefully Stevens will resign so the Repubs don't totally lose the seat, though Begitch is leading in the polls anyway. My only wish is that they actually charged him with something besides false statements. The feds need to man up and actually charge the corrupt hack. Hopefully Palin can slide into that Republican primary spot Stevens is keeping warm.

Let's hope that bush puppet mccain doesn't get elected. Four more years of Iraq and then some. Anyone that was involved with bush should get jail time, too. That would be all republicans.

Just look at what he is being indicted for, and then compare these inditement counts to what some top members of Congress get away with. One example: look at which members of Congress have been profiteering from the war in Iraq, and you will notice some prominent Democrats along Republicans. Also, look at the earmarks. Has any of you noticed that Stevens has been just a little fish in the pond upon the Democrats becoming a majority in Congress?

Finally, those of you complaining about the disproportional amount of money being syphoned to Alaska in comparison to other States: are you aware that most of Alaska is owned by the Federal Government? Are you also aware that for every barrel of oil extracted in Alaska the Federal Government takes a greater portion of the money than Alaska does? Both the Republicans and Democrats in Congress are corrupt. We only know of the ones who get caught.

Question: who has been the largest porker in Congress for the past four years? Hint: it's not Stevens. I would advise to those whining about the Alaska senators to look at the list of porkers in Congress first, and then to look at the list of possibly corrupt members of Congress. The list goes across the isle.

Those are all good points, Ray. Currently, Alaska is paying the highest gasoline prices among all the 50 states according to http://www.fuelgaugereport.com.

Well I'm starting to feel like a billy goat in this thread, so I'd better be movin' along if you know what I mean....

Blow it out your posterior. You don't live here, therefore your opinion counts for exactly squat.

Only an idiot would cut their nose off to spite their face. Which is exactly what will happen if the people of this state are foolish enough to vote in a Democrat to replace Stevens.

The Dumbocrats are in the eco-nut's back pocket and you can forget about any more exploitation of the natural resources in Alaska. Also, if that "progressive" idiot Obama gets elected, well, everyone had better hide their wallets. There won't be anyone to stand in the way of the big government socialism that the Democrats will foist upon this nation.

The naive ignorance of people like Captain Crunch never ceases to amaze.

I'm going to hold my nose this November and vote for McCain. The ridiculous tax-and-spend plans of that empty-suit radical Obama should scare the hell out of every American who actually works for a living and pays taxes.

Well, when you have some bombastic out-of-stater, from that cesspool of DC nonetheless, coming in here and spouting loads of garbage, that's what you get.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, I find it mind-boggling just how so many people think that conditions will improve if you put into office a bunch of radical leftists who want to jack taxes through to roof so that they can fund more entitlement programs and in the process create more Democratic voters. It's disgusting.

I hope to God that fool from Anchorage doesn't take Stevens' seat but then again, most Democrats in this state are centered around that city so it doesn't look good.

Oh well, my buddy said that it took four years of Carter to get us Reagan so we may have to endure a couple of very bad years in order to remind people just how destructive contemporary "progressive" group-think really is.
