Thanks HL, was trying to watch the news tonight, the man guy, kids and dogs certainly do not cooperate with listening....We don't qualify until next year, but I am happy it went through for the rest, though not enough for the way up north and way out people that really need it, with what they have to pay, this is just @$#% in the bucket

I know, Grannysroost...we do not qualify as of yet either, but no matter...I was hoping that this may help, even in this small measure. It is a beginning, at any rate...perhaps more shall come.

You should be able to file for the PFD in January of 2010. Your residency will count from January through December of 2009. Alot of people think that it goes from when they arrive until the next year date of their arrival, but it doesn't. But 2010 will be here before ya know it. I liked it better when I was a kid and time went slow lol. How about the stuid remark Harry Crawford made that he was concerned "people would put it up their noses." Maybe he does that, but I sure have good uses for mine, it's called paying bills.

Ayep, pay bills. Mostly, we plan to fill the fuel tank, and put the rest on our account with the fuel distributor. I was really sweating how we were going to manage this winter.

But think about it-right now, it costs $1500 to fill ONE three hundred gallon fuel tank here in the Valley. I know I have burned 170 gallons in one month before.

Of course I expect that to go way down because the wood stove we recently installed (Blaze King Ultra) is doing a bang up job, yippee! We have quite a bit of firewood already cut, split and stacked, with about three to four more cords to get done in the next couple of weeks.

It will just about cover the wood pellet stove we just put in. We're hoping it will cut down on our oil usage this winter. Otherwise we'll be looking at a $5,000+ oil bill for next year base on the past year's usage.

We will be good in 2009, got here August 2007, so this year is a full year for us. Right now I think it will be used for something that is more efficient, like the wood stove if we don't have one yet, or an on-demand boiler for heat and water....

Right now, I'm happy to be living in Homer. We generally use about 175 gallons of oil per year, but since our stove is propane and our electricity is through the roof, this will certainly help.

I'm glad to see they didn't play class warfare with it, though, and are giving it to everyone instead of trying to delineate between who is rich and who is poor.

Oh sorry Granny I thought you arrived this year. My sister uses a wood stove and loves it.

That would be me that arrived this year...2010 it is for us.

I have all my vehicles registered and licensed in Alaska, registered to vote, and just have to get my driver's license in Alaska. Well on my way!
