Give me the wild game any day. Just got to learn how to cook em right. Moose roast in the dutch oven with taters, carrots and onions, slow cooked at about 270 for a couple hours cannot be topped unless,,,

Venison marinated in homemade top secret Wild Game Marinade and BB-Q'd or slow smoked has swayed a vegan or two, no, sorry I can't say what's in it.

I like to eat food I can taste and savor. I enjoy the preparation just as much as the meal. When Rocky or Bugs are on the menu they get done as stew or in a split pea soup served up with sourdough. Waterfowl in garlic and butter in an iron skillet on a nice cool day is a tasty treat, stuff a bird with acorns or citrus fruit and BB-Q it. Ooh La La!

Sea food? Oh yeah, I catch it, grill it and eat it.

Bout the only thing I'll never try again is chitterlings.

Just me but, I'd rather stalk it, kill it, process it and grill it, than go to a meat counter at a grocery store. Taken at the right time of year and processed correctly wild game tastes much better than store bought beef, chicken or pork. So much for poached out of season game,,,,,

Getting ready for a trip out to the cousins in Wisconsin for Deer and Duck. Just put 300 pounds of Albacore in one of the freezers.
I completely agree. Wild game also tends to be healthier than commercially processed meat. There are no hormones, antibiotics, or other additives in game meat. Wild herbivores also do not eat meat by-products that are regularly fed to domesticated cattle. Then they scratch their pointy little heads and wonder why "Mad Cow" disease pops up.

I made a Caribou Wellington in a Bordelaise sauce two weeks ago, and it was as good as any Beef Wellington, and a lot cheaper.

Woof,

I'll agree a Garand is sweet. I prefer the M-14 and have a couple (20 over eight any day). But frozen grease on metal don't cut it. Semi's not my choice for a cold weather gun.

But that Heym is zeroed in at 50 and 100 yrds. Two thumps out of those barrels and the game is OVER!

I shot expert on an M-14 and thought it was one of the sweetest rifles ever made.

You know, you really cannot put one over on a redhead Just a bit of a recommendation.

I did say it was going to cost me, and dearly at that.

"Red" is my reason for drawing breathe in the morning and getting up ready to slay dragons. I'll pay that penalty with interest, gladly. Sides that, she says she loves me, so,,,,,

I think I'll ROLL THE DICE on this one!

Something the husband would say...and I allow him to do so It is just so cute to see him try that I haven't the heart to dissuade him otherwise....at least not straight away. Lets him feel that he's getting somewhere

Red is a common nickname for us redheads, it seems...

That all being said, I am hardly the voice of reason...if the husband wishes for something, I am usually hard put to deny him.

Coincidentally, I shot me a couple of experts holding AK's in the sandbox. Got one behind a wall one time from about 400 yrds out, offhand off the top of an amphib. Hard to argue with a 7.62 nato round. Even behind walls.

Better in the sand than that dang m-4.

Remember to slow cook that slab of Bullwinkle.

Grilled...I live for that.
I cannot wait until next season - the husband is allowing me to bring in the moose Now I have to decide whether or not to do it by bow or rifle.

Decisions, decisions.

I'd join ya on a rifle hunt but I'll leave Moose hunting with Arrows up to those who like to flirt with death more than I. I know it can be done, but I prefer to drop em quick. Just me.

And there's that "allowed" word again.
