I don't even want to think about the job part, but I'd bet that 'sky loft' is probably an attic in an abandoned building somewhere.

Believe me, there are a lot of abandoned/condemned buildings in the City. There are plenty of "internet cafes" in the City also. They can be expensive so maybe that's why he doesn't post much.
