Ya know, we're all wound up about getting outta here and heading north, dealing with all we have to. And just when I thought we had everything just about wrapped up,,,,

Went in for a hearing test today too see how the ol ears are doing. During the exam when the Doc is digging for gold in my ear canal, he notices a mole that has gone bad since our last visit. Tells me to sit tight and relax.
RELAX? Bout 10 minutes later he brings in another Navy Doc and asks her to check it out. It's behind my ear. So the Commander gets to asking questions, any history of moles going bad? Yep, had em removed. Any history of anyone in the family with em? Yep, Mother died from Melanoma, bra strap rubbed it raw and it went bad (Died AT 27). Any more moles on yer body? Yep. How many?

Lets just say I have a few. Well she says strip, and of course this coming from a superior Officer I stand up and drop em and peel the wife beater off and she starts a prodding and poking where she shouldn't be, less we were married.

Now, I have kept a close eye on these pesky lil' buggers and have had some removed, but she found some that I had no idea were on me and she starts the ol' uh huh, I see, hhmmm, she came up with 7 questionable and 3 definite bad ones. Asks me what my plans were for the day and before I know it she's calling and making room for me in her wing. Told her hang on Doc, ain't happening today. I've got the sharks circling, meetings that just can't wait due to time limits and hey, I can come back in monday and you can burn away the buggers.

Then I get the lecture. And she made it clear that we got a prob here. Monday, Doc's gonna cut and burn and send em in the the lab work.

Get em checked and keep an eye on em. Please.

Lord, I've been a listening, how bout You?

I don't know anything about them. But I know many folks that have them. Are they like cancer or something?

Yup Rance - - if going to that extent some probably are cancer- Wanderer - get it done now, if caught is just watchful waiting on the rest, and you only have a few - they will anesthetize - cut out to get margins and send to pathology - when report comes back they have the margins checked - to make sure all is gone - bra strap or anything rubbing is nasty and if mom only 27- so sad they didn't know then what they do now - you have a bad family history - so deal with it now - only cut out and totally outpatient - I am so happy it was caught so ya can come up here with us all's

Default core samples

You're gonna be amazed at how MUCH they'll end up taking out depth-wise, especially if they're on the scalp. It won't hurt, just a couple stitches...till later.

Still and all, way less hassle and far less pain that dealing with even the more benign forms of skin cancer. Far better to deal with it now, and kudos to your ear doc for catching it in the first place.
