Looking for 'Green' Builder-Architect to design Solar Home in Sequim Area
We have a 5 acre parcel on Vogt Road northwest of Sequim - wide open so I've been looking for a builder/architect who has been designing Solar structures and using sustainable materials. We are currently on Kodiak Island, Alaska so I'm unable to contact and meet face to face with any builders until next June when we move down there.
I'm looking for anyone who has built a home with Solar for water and radiant floor heating and roof panels for electric. Doubt that we can be completely off Grid but it would be great to be able to get most of what we need by Solar.
I check the Sequim bird cam out a lot ... I don't know that it is truly sunny in Sequim ... seems like a lot of overcast skies. I did read an article about a couple, the MacRobbies... I think, who built a solar home back in 2005 or earlier. I would like to get in touch with them or other home owners who can discuss the pros and cons of going solar in Sequim.
Hope somewhat out there can help get me started. Thanks.

Sequim Builder
Hi! I would like to introduce you to UBuildIt. We are a locally owned and operated franchise here in Sequim. In a nutshell, we help people to act as their own contractors with our assistance. You have the control over what goes into the project that you might not have with a general contractor. We would put the bid together and walk you through the entire project using subs that have extensive experience in solar considerations. Please check out our website, and then if you'd like to talk further, email me. I look forward to hearing from you. Chuck

Contact you local Home Builder's Association. The NAHB has been training and certifying Builders and Architects under the Green Building Program for several years. Look for the initials CGP (Certified Green Professional)behind the builder's name. I am a NAHB/CGP here in North Texas.

Sequim is in WA. A lot of fishermen/families 'retire' to that part of the world. And Sequim is probably just as wet as Kodiak.
