While I share some of you're optomism, I for one am also worried.
We all know the national news media is factually challenged. There are some photos out there taken a few days ago of Sarah with Ted Stevens. The press will roll those out with the implication that Sarah is in Steven’s back pocket. Heck they’ll probably even try to imply she’s indicted with him as well.
Todd Palin works up on the slope. By the time the press is finished with him, he’ll be a “Big Oil Man” on the payroll of Cheney and Bush.
The whole Wooten thing will become a national circus, Biden and Pelosi will probably demand the investigation be handed over to a Federal Congressional Panel.

Andrea (liberal) Mitchell on MSNBC was immediately ripping on her with the ethics investigation for her firing of a state trooper. A commentator on the MSNBC Team said...yes, she did. The state trooper was married to her sister and he severely beat her...evidentally he was going to be in legal trouble for it...so she had him dismissed.
Ms. Liberal Mitchell...sheepishless says" Oh..well that's certainly understandable then!"
THE LIBERALS ARE RUNNING SCARED!!!!
IT'S TIME WOMEN IN THIS COUNTRY HAD A VOICE!

No argument there, but that's my point. The McCain camp knew about this in advance. With so much ammunition already out there, why intentionally hand the other side one more bullet!
Note, I'm not making any judgement on how the investigation will go. But given the current track record of the media, the actual resolution almost becomes irrelevant. Even if Sarah is completely vindicated in on everything, it will never be reported, or at best glossed over in some footnote story on page 13. All we'll here is that she was "under investigation".

Before today, I had no idea who she was. But after hearing and reading about her back ground, I am super exited that McCain selected her. She stands for most of the things I as a conservative Hispanic believe in and she will compliment McCain well as a youthful (and should I say attractive) republican that I beileve will help fill the gap that McCain was so desperately needing. In other words, we may very well be witness to the next political rock star, just like you know who. Accept this one has actually earned some of the notoriety she will receive.
From Texas...Thank you Alaska!!
