We've made it to Bemidji, MN. The first day we ran into some issues with how much we had in the trailer and what our truck could haul. To make a long story short, we dumped off some of our stuff to lighten the load. All is good now.

poohouse, we have a 20' trailer being pulled with a Chevy 1500 4.7. If the load is heavy, I would go with a 2500.

All is well now though...

Default Hi Nephler

Thank you for the feedback. We were thinking of a Suburban 2500 hopefully. We thought about selling all of our stuff but we are afraid that everything will be more expensive to buy again in Alaska. Most of our furniture is that particle board stuff you buy at Wal Mart and put together yourself. We thought about taking that stuff apart and loading it and putting it back together when we get there, but that will make our load heavier I think. I think we have decided to take the bare necessities which is our beds, computer and TV and all our personal stuff. I think we may get rid of everything else. Thanks for your advice and keep me posted. Good luck on the rest of your trip.
