Palin / Kopp = McCain / Palin?
My wife and I were discussing this last night. Anyone else notice the strange parallel unfolding before us? Regardless of the preceding Monegan stuff:
Palin nominates Kopp as her pick for Public Safety Commissioner.
“Scandalous” revelations about Kopp’s past surface within days.
A media firestorm erupts.
Official stories go from “it never happened”
to “he was thoroughly vetted and this isn’t an issue”
to “we didn’t know about it”
then finally to “we asked him but he never told us”.
Kopp finally withdraws because the issue overshadows his ability to get anything done.
Could we be witnessing some strange repeat of history here on the national stage with McCain / Palin?

I hope it doesn't come to that. Regardless of one's political feelings, these kinds of attacks are the lowest of the low. American Politics have truly sunk into the gutter.

ain't gonna happen
If you're saying that McCain will summarily drop Palin because he turns up sopmething in the "post vetting" process, I'd say the chances are getting pretty slim. She's been very well received by his core constituency, and is showing up as increasingly popular with the slim ranks of the undecided.
Frankly, for my money she's a better draw to the Republican ticket than McCain is.

Now it makes you wonder if she really did fire Walt since she hired a private lawyer for the case.

Now, who watched her speech last night? Did it sound like someone about to withdraw? I guess some people have nothing better to do than speculate?
