Captain Crunch is up there moose hunting somewhere, but he's a very experienced hunter and I doubt you'll have a problem with him in your yard.

We have yet to see a moose in the last week. They know when hunting season is!

Rance try driving Sterling Hwy around 11pm. They seem to like crossing the road around then.

If he asked, I would show him a good spot overlooking the beaver ponds, they rut there all the time...

I doubt he needs your assistance; he gets a moose every year.

We had a Cow and baby moose inour meadow tonight, which is the first time I have seen them here on the property. I see them every time we come home in the evening between 8-11pm out by the road, but this was a first here at the house. I have been told by the neighbors that they will be all over the place this winter. I would love to shoot one for food for the family and dogs, but don't have a big enough freezer just yet.

Question ~ Do you need a license to hunt moose if they are on your own land?

You are probably right.... it would be a waste of my time to offer.

You certainly are a bitter person....

I don't think Met was being bitter just complementing CC's hunting ability with regards to Moose. I think you might have read too much into it...just my opinion!

Yes, you need a license to do any hunting of any kind in Alaska during hunting season.

Some hunts require "tags" such as Grizzly/Brown bear and guides if you are a non-resident. For moose where I am at, they have to have a 50" wide rack or four brow tines on one of the two sides. They also have permits for bulls without horns and cows.
