One late rule change was made at the request of several mushers. The rules now prevent a dog driver from using any device which could intimidate a following team when that team is within 50 feet. This rule was based on mushers who reported difficulty passing teams which were using ski poles or other implements in a manner that discouraged the following team from passing.

I'm sure mushers in the valley are getting nervous right now. Have lost almost all of the snow out of the yard and the surrounding forest.

It may be time for a new thread...
