VALENTINE'S SHOW? Arctic sweethearts, take note. A solar wind stream is heading toward Earth and it might spark high-latitude auroras when it arrives on Feb. 14th. Valentine's Day could end with a sweet display of Northern Lights:

Ok here you go. A lunar Eclipse will be visable in Alaska

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse on February 9, 2009

Here is a clock for UTC to AKST- http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=18

DUSKY LUNAR ECLIPSE: On Monday, Feb. 9th, the full Moon will pass through the outskirts of Earth's shadow, producing a penumbral lunar eclipse. The event should be easily visible to the naked eye as a dusky shading of the northern half of the Moon between the hours of 1400 and 1520 UT (6:00 am - 7:20 am PST). The timing favors observers in western North America, Hawaii, Australia and east Asia. [animated eclipse] [visibility map]

Yes. So you will have to get up early. Not going to be the best lunar eclipse but still be a good one. I can't even see it here, unless I drive west to about Ill.
