Comet Lulin rises in the east just a few hours before the sun. See for yourself: sky map.

Nice, a nearly full moon (99.9%) 30 degrees or so above the western horizon and a penumbral lunar eclipse. Cool!

Thanks aurorawatcher

I look at that map and see connect the dots! We'll just be looking south to east for it in northern Sweden.

Alright Rance, Here we go. First find along the yellow line each dot is a day in Feb. Then you just have to look up into that portion of the sky.

Yeah, I just assumed it would be in the west at that time of day. But Rance is right it will more south than west. Rance you'll be seeing it closer to moon rise then. We'll see it closer to moon set.

Took a look outside - sky isn't exactly clear - slight misty with some clouds coming in. No lights in the sky yet - still early. I took a walk around back by the beach - much nicer viewing - a lot less lights, no need to sheild my eyes with my hands. That means I can keep my hands down out of the wind and my belly will still be covered by the jacket, a bit warmer that way.

Rance the 24th it will be next to Saturn. You will be able to find it then. From the 15th till the 19th it will be across from Corvus (the crow) and that is a easy constellation to pick out.

Here's a nice tool to use to find where stuff is in the sky at your location for whatever date and time you want:

Your Sky

Use the controls to clean up the display.
