That one is looking sort of east/southeast I think. I took about 20 pictures. 2 have the really neat shooting stars. 5 or 6 have the lighter streak. 3 in a row show that streak traveling across the sky at what appears to be a slow pace. Funny thing is I never saw any of them until I put them on the computer. Just went and got a couple more. Lights seem dimmer but more fanned out. I still have high hopes of some really good show after midnight. This one is from earlier...

Gorgeous, Rance!!
Our skies have cleared of clouds, but lunar interference is now in play. Stars are brilliant though.

Yes Rance, very nice. I missed it. I got caught up in doing other things and then realized the time, went out to see just a few wisps. But now it's 1am - maybe the really good stuff will come out.

Highland, Hope something shows your way.

Did you guys see that?

Between around 2:00 - 2:30am.
Not too bad up there. It wasn't really intense but it was all over the sky. Predominantly heavy more north and west. But there was some stuff in the south and east too. For a little while there were some nice yellows at the bottom. A couple of times the bands looped around and made a circle. A lot of moon glow though and a little bit of mist in the sky over the ice.

I also saw at least 1 meteor and possibly another - but not really sure.

Since I've seen a number of meteors and Rance's pictures captured a couple, I checked - no major meteor showers at this time. But there are a number of minor ones going on around this time.

Most notably the Gamma Normids, Virginids, Delta Leonids and Theta Centaurids.

The Gamma Normids peak on March 13th. So there may be a bit more as it gets closer.

Get any more pictures Rance?

I just took a look out the bedroom window, there's some stuff near the moon, hard to tell through that window how intense as I get a bunch of light from the building next door. I guess I just have to go back out to look.

Wow, great shots Rance
Wish it was clear here, maybe we'd have a bit of the lights.

The solar wind is expected to intensify (a little) during the next 24 hours, and NOAA forecasters estimate a 20% chance of high-latitude geomagnetic activity. Arctic sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.

And we're supposed to receive another 8 inches of snow. You know...the GG is coming home today and all
