Do Alaskans have an accent? (Anchorage, Bethel: place, weather, news)

Okay sorry if this question sounds weird, but Sarah Palin is the first Alaskan I've ever heard speak, and she has kind of an upper midwest/minnesota accent thing going on. (Nothing against it. I like the accent actually). But it got me to wondering...Do a lot of alaskans talk like this or is it unique to Gov. Palin?

I hear West Texas, Louisiana and Tennessee at work. No real accent that I can hear.

Ya know, I think there is an accent in AK, or maybe the newscasters from Anchorage come from the same place? Was noticing that a few weeks ago when watching the weather, flipping channels and they all talk, pause, talk pretty much the same

Warpt you sound like you could be from anywhere. You don't have a regional accent per se. My friend in Wasilla sounds like she could be from the Southern states.

Here in Bethel you have a wide variety of accents. Asian, Australian, UK, Baston, Deep south, Texan (my brother in law), Nepalese, Indian, and a few from the Middle East. A big melting pot.
