Is coal available in the Trapper creek area? . I know there's a mine near F-banks, but can I get coal there. Is it easier to just go ahead and cut firewood for fuel for a stove? Curious which would be easier, not neccesarialy cheaper.

Hey Big Bob, I could be wrong but, I've have not heard of anyone burning coal in a residential setting since the late 40s early 50s. But, even if coal were available, if there are plenty of wood in your area, why would coal be less expensive and easier to obtain? If I were in your area, you can borrow my 27 ton hydraulic splitter.

I don't know of any coal available near Trapper Creek. You can always drive up to Healy to get some. It's maybe 150 miles...or so.
