Hello Corey/Nikki. I used to live in Longview, WA many years ago (mid-60's) and have some fond memories of your state. I was just a teenager back then; I imagine it has changed a lot since. (?) There are MANY small towns in Alaska that fit your desire for water and mountains (dozens!). I live in one of them: Seward. You can look up my reply about this small town under the post "Open Future and Bound for Alaska", where I described some of the attributes, and a pic. And, for a pic of what the place looks like NOW in winter, I have one in my reply under the post "Whats Rural Land go For?". Yep...we got snow. Rance is right on: start with the link he provided, and click on "job bank". Then click in this order: "Find a Job", then "A Specific Economic Region...", then "Select a Specific Area...". At this point I usually type in Gulf Coast. You will get to a menu where one of the options is "Option 2: Search for a job by keyword". I've used this one before, and to pull up jobs in a certain city I've just entered "Seward" (for example), instead of what job I was actually interested in. That way it just comes up with ALL of the job listings in that particular city. Or, if you don't have a specific place in mind, just enter in the job you are interested in, and it may come up with that job in more than one city. Anyway, good luck with the search. It may help to tell us what trades/skills you two are looking for...

Bud

PS: If you can tolerate working with prisoners, the Ak Dept of Corrections is looking for several corrections officers, in Seward as well as other cities. It actually is not that bad here...in the 5yrs I've been here I haven't heard of a single incident between prisoners and CO's. It's not fun, but it pays the bills. Starting pay is $17/hr, and tops out somewhere around $25/hr once you make Sgt. Good medical, dental. Lots of OT too, if you want it. If interested: http://www.correct.state.ak.us/corre...o_recruitment/
