There is one place in Alaska with reservation status...anyone care to guess?
Don't see much panhandling on POW...but I can mention plenty of white guys who basically live off of society--welfare girlfriends and the occasional or perhaps not so much batch of meth. |

Granny, I recall the library incident. It was written up in the Frontier; people were talking about it then.
I've started wearing my hair down all the time now. Before I'd' kind of twist it up like she does but no more.

If I recall correctly and maybe you can fill me in on the blanks, but when the Metlakatla Reservation was established, they didn't receive the funds that the "Native Corporations" did as well a land allotments in other areas of the State that were outside of their Traditional areas. Was that true?
If so, they did get some benefits though BIA, but lost on other if I read that right. That is why the others didn't want to go the Reservation route.
Do you recall any of the details.... |
