There are at least a couple of different ways to view the "media attacks" on Palin. (1) There were some attacks ... news outlets going way overboard with personal family matters. People in Alaska are at least somewhat familar with Palin, but for the rest of us, there are WAY more questions than answers. In the absence of anything other than campaign speeches coming from Palin, I've taken to reading some Alaskan newspapers online in an attempt to find out more.

Yesterday the Anchorage Daily News had an opinion piece entitled Questions for Palin, and I found it interesting. It included the following observation:

Questions like these serve a couple of purposes. If the candidate answers honestly and fully, voters get a much better sense of that person's suitability to serve as Vice-President. Also, questions like these get voters to think and to question, and personally, I like it when voters use their brains, find out as much as they can about the candidates, and make an informed decision in the voting booth.

I would hope all politicians answer honestly (I know I can dream) but completely it is politics. Not only do we need to know about our VP candidates, but all candidates running for office.

As for the media, yes, the strongest attacts have been made by the sleazy, left wing nuts but I still think the left wing media is doing all they can to discredit her. That being said, the right wing media sees her as an angel sent directly from God, that too is absurd...

Thinking of Woodbridge, we used to love to shop at the outlet mall, can't remember the name, I think they have one in Ft Lauderdale and a few other areas as well: of course it has changed, I am sure. Time does change so many things...

Has anyone ever told you, writing all in caps is very rude. Most of are trying to have a somewhat civilized debate here, not a rant. If you don't want to vote again, that is your choice and you, will get what you deserve. I will always vote, this is a right and something every American should beleive in. by the way, your language alone shows what kind of a person you appear to be. If you think any candidate is going to bail you out I feel sorry for you. Can you explain what Obama is going to do for you? Obama is a talking head. That's it. He isn't, hasn't, can't or won't do anything substantial. They will talk, study and debate the nations problems to death. In four years they will still be doing it.

Palin is a worker and has been most of her life. She won't just talk about shooting the moose, she'll go out and do it. Then she'll skin it and pack it up for the winter.

That was a direct quote Davis made to ABC News. Why does the media have to back off? Not all are asking about her child. I'm sure on Meet the Press it would be an issue driven interview.

That is why Obama went through 19 months of a presidential primary. Believe it or not, you learn a lot about a person in that time under that microscope. McCain hopes to throw an unknown entity into the race with 60 days to go to try and short circuit that process.

She'll be the VP. A position she told Larry Kudlow she would have to have the duties of the job explained to her since she knows the VP has no real authority other than to break tie votes in the Senate and wait for the President to get sick or pass on. When he asked her about it, she seemed to know it is mostly a figure head position. John Adams knew that 3 days into the job.

you are missing the point: I do understand asking questions and getting answers and we have had her thrown in our face with no warning. I still say,put anyone in her position and they would have to take a deep breath. Then, of course we hope to hear her being interviewed: I think this will happen or I hope it will. The little I have heard about Obama makes me very uncomfortable. If it were Hillary, I would know what I was getting or think I would.

Now I am waiting for Bugboy to come back on and defend his statement, but my guess is he will not, or certainly will not be able to make much sense...
