alaska bound!
hello everyone, my better half and i have been pondering moving to alaska for about five years. we finally decided to make it a reality and to hopefully move in april or may of 2009(in order to get all of our affairs in order).we are looking at the Juneau area of alaska.i am aware we need to find employment out there before we even think of packing. if you have any insight good or bad we would like to hear it.

Juneau in nice but like most southeast towns it's isolated. You might try to start off your search by reading the Juneau Empire their daily news. Try to plan on arriving in town with at least 10K in cash. You'll need it.

9-5 isn't a grind when you have a family, it's a necessity. Rug-rats and crumb-snatchers need to eat and be clothed on an every day basis. I've tried to get my kids to stop eating (I tell them it's a bad habit and they need to break it, but that hasn't worked so far).
