Default Camping near fairbanks..

We're planning a trip up to fairbanks early next week, planning on camping out just before Chena. Are we crazy? What have the temps been like right now? Anyone who has camped near there this time of year have any advice?

We're from Anchorage and know it's going to be chilly.

Also, can anyone recommend good places for food, beer, and coffee?

Thank you!

Chena hot springs has all the above.

Camping is going to be in the freezing ranges about now at night, not subzero for the most part, but it could. You should have a good time and bring warm clothes and sleeping bags.

Besides, when you get cold, you can go and get in the rock pool and get really warmed up!

Enjoy yourself!

You said, "before Chena." Did you mean, Chena Recreation Area in North Pole, or perhaps Chena Lakes?
