Oh that is lovely...I'll be driving into Anchorage tonight, having to be at the airport by 11:00. It will make the drive interesting going to and coming from. Feh...one can hope it waits a wee bit until I am home. Be careful, Satch, on the way in tomorrow.

Oh, I'll be careful. I'll grab my coffee at one of those trailer joints and listen to the radio as I crawl into Anchorage. I have AWD but it's not me that I'm worried about, it's the other idiots.

I saw five cars in the ditch this morning, including three pickups on their sides. Lest we forget, I am from Pennsylvania, where it's been known to snow just a wee bit.

Exactly my point. Winter driving does not bother me in the least, I take things slow, give myself time, room, and I manage. The others who forget how to drive from one Winter to the next are what concern me.

Nope, I hadn't forgotten. I lived north of Pittsburgh for a couple years myself. Its amazing how stupid people are if given half a chance.

There was maybe an inch or two on the ground around Eagle River this morning but yet there were those people in the ditch. I can't fathom how stupid you have to be to put yourself in that situation, especially if you've spent at least one winter here.

The way I've heard it is that people don't remember how to drive in snow & ice, so they just blast along at 70+ & can't stop.

The proof is in the pudding, or overturning, as the case may be.

I came down Dimond Blvd this AM, and everyone was driving nicely, barely doing the speed limit if at all. I was impressed.
