Default clothing and lifestyle

hi,
i was just wondering what type of everyday clothes do alaskans wear? for example like in fairbanks in february when its -40? Do people buy massive bags of rice and tins of food in cases of being snowed in? also has on off the subject, if i went to fairbanks in february next year for a few days, say 5 or 6, what would be best for me to do and see during that time, i know im off through canada and up the places along the inside passage in may, but i want to see fairbanks side too, and i have a week off in february, seems has im someone who goes places at the click of my fingers, im thinking why not!

I wear jeans 365 days a year. Footwear is depending on the weather.
Yes, I stock up on food in Oct because it's just a habit. Not all do, or need to I guess.

-Spend a little time at Chena Hot Springs resort
-UAF Museum (if you are into that kind of thing)
-Maybe get a ride on a dog sled
Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce

Clothing for short periods of time outdoors: regular clothes, boots or shoes, coat or parka, synthetic insulated gloves, stocking caps or hat, scarf can be handy.

For longer periods of time outdoors: The best stocking cap is one you can roll down and cover your face. These have a couple of holes for your eyes, and one for your mouth, and are made of synthetic/wool blends. Wear some insulated synthetic underwear (tops and bottoms) underneath of your clothing, and a wind-blocking and thin jacket or sweater underneath of the parka. Pack boots or mucklucks with enough room for thick and insulated synthetic/wool socks. A set of warm mittens. A Scarf is nice, too.

Absolutely swing by Chena Hot Springs.

I'd like to visit that museum myself. Is it at the big white building up on the hill?
