I went to Wrangell and found this link: www.harbor@wrangell.com that may help. Or write ports and harbors at P.O. Box 531 Wrangell, AK 99929.
I'm sure Petersburg or other SE towns have similar info.

Thorne Bay docks
They sure look nice. What is the problem with them?

Why the hell wouldn't you want to moor at TNB docks?? Seem OK to me. Perhaps you've had a personal experience of some kind?

For the poster wanting to moor--there's nothing wrong with Thorne Bay docks. They are pretty well kept and in a nice location.
Craig docks are also fine but they are crowded at times. Lots of live-aboards here. For "moor" details on docks on Prince of Wales Island, you can check out Chamber of Commerce in Klawock--or someone can give you info firsthand, depending on what specific questions you have.
PM me if you wish. I'm happy to help.

BTW there are also docks, usually kept by the Forest Service, in out-of-the-way and not very widely known locations. That goes for boat launches, too. You have to get into a Forest Service map and check it out, region by region in Southeast, and you'll see little out-of-the-way places to moor at, including some mooring buoys by cabins, docks like the one at El Cap Cave Interpretive site, and more, like docks by old logging areas, etc. You kind of have to have a friend in the area to find some of these places.
Every city undoubtedly has it's own dock system and rules. I always find Chambers of Commerce are pretty good sources of info, town by town.
