I landed there a couple of times, nice area just a short hop from Anchorage and you can access town by boat if you are in the right spot. The State has land sales there now and then, lots of cabins in the area now verses years ago.

Too close to Anchorage for my liking though. But the winters are mild, a bit cooler than Anchorage, but only by a few degrees, nothing really like the interior.

Good luck if you are buying land there, go see it first before you ink the deal, some very good property there, and some real swamp....

Thanks for the information. Just out of curiosity, did you have time when you were there to see how the locals functioned as far as electricity, phones, etc? Would appreciate a reply, and if you have any more helpful information, perhaps I can PM you. Thanks.

Here is a state site that may give you a bit more info.

Alaska Division of Community and Regional Affairs

The last time I was there, everyone had their own generators, wind power, solar panels or just candles...

My cell phone worked there with about one bar, but that was a few years ago and the towers from Anchorage may have been upgraded to where they get a better signal now.
