If anyone is interested, Army/Navy is having a sale on Bunny Boots right now for $99. I would assume they would be the same at Big Ray's in Fairbanks and Mack's in Kodiak as well.

what about northern outfitters boots, I heard you can wring them out if they get wet and they are good to go. I have poor circulation and my feet have gotten slightly chilled in my bunny boots on snowmachine trips I am thinking about selling my bunnys for a pair of northern outfitters. What does everyone think of the northern outfitters

Those have liners, if you get stuck in subzero weather in overflow, the boots along with your feet will freeze. Bunny boots are the best boots for extended time outside.

so maybe its a good idea for me not to sell the bunnys and just have both pairs. Other than the exteme conditions of falling in a lake do the nothern outfitters beat the bunnys?

I'd keep the boots. A friend of mine got stuck in overflow at -15 and his liner type boots froze, he lost toes on both feet.

If you got chilled in bunny boots, you might want to check a couple of things. Are you wearing thermal socks, and are your legs well enough insulated???
And, assuming all else was okay, check the bunny boots! If they have any moisture in them (e.g., if they leak air), they should be replaced! And when you see surplus bunny boots at a very good price... just realize that they were surplussed because they have moisture!
For someone with poor circulation a good set of bunny boots is almost essential. Likewise, for a "survival kit", bunny boots the only way.

Yea I went ahead and ordered the northern outfitters because I have never found myself in a liquid overflow in the winter, but I agree I will keep the bunny boots and I will buy a box of thoes chemical hand warmers and extra socks so I can put the bunny boot on, the bunny boots were not surplus they were brand new but I only had on poly pro long underware and jeans so that may have been why I got cold in them, I probably ought to get a nice pair of snow pants too.

Crazy colors
But $1500 for a snow suit? c'mon... seems out of range compared to seperate parka/pants prices.
I love those for snowmachining (snowmobiling in my neck of the woods). I bought an old one on a garage sale few years ago, a Sears brand nylon exterior. Zippers everywhere. But I never got cold, even going 50+mph in subzero temps. But now the seams gave up in too many places so... I need a new one!

KLIM brand snow gear is pretty awesome. Mostly snowmachine gear but its not outlandish looking, is light and very warm. On the spendy side though and it never goes on a significant sale.
