I've lived in Alaska for almost 20 years, never found boots better at keeping my feet warm, the best are BATA. I usually get mine here: www.bunnyboots.com

With or without socks Bunny boots just can't be beat.

Chaffing at the top - yes !! It is a major problem when you wear bb's.

The simple solution ? wear socks that are taller than the boot itself.

Problem forever solved!

I've tried sorels when I first went to work on the slope in Deadhorse. Almost lost my feet to trench foot.

When whaling; there is no place to change (clothes); there is not enough room to bring two months worth of clothes to change every day.

Wearing your boots every day for two months, out on the ice, is going to tell / teach you one thing very quickly; YOU best have the right boots on or your going to suffer. You are standing on ocean ice all day every day and at night you sleep with your boots on!

Not once ever on 9 whale hunts have I ever had to even think about my feet. they were toasty warm - and smelled like rotten fish!!

It sure was nice to get back to land & take a shower and cremate my socks

I had the same problem with Sorels while hunting. My feet got hot, too hot, and began to sweat. I had to change my socks every couple hours. Now I wear 600-gram to 800-gram Thinsulate boots. As long as I am walking, my feet stay warm, but not hot.

Actually, looking at it again isn't that morse code for 'The Moose's Tooth is way, way, too expensive'?

Even with BBs you need to put the Plastic bags over your socks. That way if your feet sweat, with a change out of socks (and bags) you have dry boots all the time, nothing like wet boots at the end of the day to make the next day miserable starting out! Works well in Sorrel type boots too, dry is nice!
