I know it does seem expensive to me too, but I kind of figured it was due to the weather, and that it is over an hour from the airport. Besides, I think my insurance copay for a hospital stay (if I am driving) is about $500. lol

I use them all the time in the winter while icefishing and to keep my camera gear from freezing. They even have one's you can use as body warmers.

When I flew to Alaska, I put the hand warmers in my luggage with no problems. The TSA even inspected my luggage and left them there. You just cant take them ONTO the plane, but in luggage is fine.

From what I understand I am right down the street from some great Sporting Goods store (from SpringHill Suites), so I will buy them there if I dont find any here. Thanks so much!
