About 2 to 3 inches minimum long...some kind of California potatoe bug that migrated north and uglier than sin...I'd take a spider anyday....

Some odd looking insects now and then...but relatively harmless.

Glad it wasn't. But... A gun? For a mouse? I once dropped a recliner on a spider and thought that was overkill...
But... If you hit it, then... WELL DONE! If people are going to have guns, then I much prefere people who can handle them properly.
I wouldn't want to clean up the mess, though

OMI-Gosh...you dropped a RECLINER on a poor defenseless spider?
Oh my....have you NO remorse! LoL!
Yeah, Ok...I know...I have to agree with you: a gun for a mouse is somewhat...uh...extreme. Even an air-powered pellet gun. But my excuse is...well...like I was under this extreme undue pressure to "do something", like right now...about the situation. And there was just nothing esle laying around that I could use. (well, ok, there WAS this 12ga shotgun with 00 Buckshot....)
Anyway, I did what I did, because it was an, uh..."emergency". LOL! I guess I could have ignored the whole thing. But then, the result might also have been a little extreme: " D.I.V.O.R.C.E."
Heh, heh....she is STILL walking VERY cautiously around the house. 'Cuz 'ya just never know when another mouse might just jump out and attack...
Afterwards, I said to her "maybe we shouldn't have done that to the poor little guy. Maybe instead we should have kept him alive, like maybe for a pet. Then I could have named him "Harry", because he's all "hairy". He would have been curled up all cozy-like in my shirt pocket to nap, while we snuggled up on the sofa watching TV and eating popcorn...
"Ain't gonna happen! Not only "NO", but H**L no!" was her immediate response... "And...I would name him " D.E.A.D.".....'cuz that's what he'd be"....
Well...geez...I mean, I thought it was a good idea.... Poor mousie...
Some women just have no sense of humor....
Sheesh!

When I lived in Arkansas I trapped them live, then flushed them down the toilet. Some could swim pretty good...but none could out swim the whirlpool of death.
