uhm. wow. how can you stand the cold? doesn't it also have a high suicidal rate? my gosh, i would NEVER live there. i can't stand the cold here in NY.

how in the world do you cope?

Then don't live here. I'm quite sure you wouldn't missed. I'd NEVER live in NY because folks are rude, obnoxious, and there's too much snow.
How do YOU cope?

See, your question and comments are a bit off.

It gets cold in NY too and didnt you get record amounts of snow? I read on the news there was as much as 10 feet of snow!

Maybe those living in Alaska have high tolerance to the cold or just dont care and love Alaska anyway? Im sure some would agree

If this helps you any, I hate the south FL heat and would like to move to the northeast for some cooler weather

I don't live in Alaska but hopefully someday after college. Right now I live in Maine and its pretty cold here too...I love it.

Hey all you Alaskans!!! I just arrived 2 days ago here in Soldotna, AK. What a culture shock and boy is it cold, but absoulutely beautiful You guys really do have a little "slice of heaven on earth". Wish I had more time to enjoy it, but I have to start work on Tues. I guess there is always after hours. I'm very pleased that I made the decision to move here from Cally. Everyone so far has been very welcoming, So "THANK YOU" AND MAYBE I"ll see some of you around!!!! Sarah
