This was a Brown Bear south of Sitka, it came out every evening and people would go down and take photos of it. Was a pretty good drawing card for the tour ships with the bus load of people getting to see a bear...
This was taken last summer when in Sitka to visit our Daughter, not the date on the photo which was wrong.

This photo has nothing to do with bears, it was just a really pretty sunset at my cabin. Had just got there on the snowmachine and got the wood stove going when I figured I needed a picture of the sky when I looked out the window.
The date is correct, but the time is about 3:30 PM or so in the afternoon, not the time shown.

Don't know why, but for some reason there seems to be a lot of them there like that. Then the nights get really clear and you can see more stars that it would be possible to count. Trips out to the outhouse in the dark part of night is a great time to see the northern lights too, although at -40, you don't watch them very long seated....

Good reason why you use some blue foam for the seat liner, it at least gets instantly warm when you sit.... The rest is a bit cold...

Any polar bear pics? And could you try to get really close to it as well?
