I believe that has less to do with the plumbing itself than improper waste disposal and less bathing by some who don't have plumbing. Plumbing just makes it easier for les educated, or, the lazy, to avoid some issues.

Thanks for the info guys.
Glitch, I am still doing research while preparing here for a move. I am planning a trip to Tok in the fall after the melt. I was supposed to go this past summer but I picked up a big job that I still have several months of work left.
I have looked into what services are up in the Tok area. They have the basic medical services there, local grocery store, gas station etc. I figure I will make a run into Fairbanks about once a month or so. I believe there is a hardware store there also.
Nice to hear about the duck hunting as it is my favorite. Can't say I have hunted goose but I can't wait to go. I spend a bit of time on the Alaska outdoor forum doing research and asking questions.
Glitch are you on the Alaska outdoors forum also?
Floyd, I agree and understand how important proper hygene and sewage disposal is. I have done quite a bit of research on this subject as Alaska presents unique problems with this as well as other things having to do with everyday life.

I see what you are saying now. The US Marines taught me great sanitary skills in less than desirable conditions.
