... Blizzard Warning in effect from 6 am to 4 PM akst Thursday...
The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a Blizzard
Warning... which is in effect from 6 am to 4 PM akst Thursday.
An area low pressure moving through the Kuskokwim Delta will
bring strong winds and significant snowfall to the Kuskokwim
Delta. Snowfall is developing this evening and will continue
through the night... but the blizzard conditions will occur during
the day Thursday as the low pressure passes and strong northwest
winds gusting to 50 mph kick in. Snow will taper off from west to
east late Thursday afternoon with the winds decreasing Thursday
night... allowing blizzard conditions to subside.
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to white-out
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. All travel and
outdoor activity is strongly discouraged.
Merry Christmas...may all find warmth, contentment, and feel loved. John and Chris...Deb, Rance, Hannah, et al; I know I can speak for Steven, but we wish you were here. Thank you for being our lovely friends!
Merry Christmas to all! Very cute and funny Warpt!
Praying next year will be my first white Christmas for me and the wife and as many of my adult sons i can drag up there with me.
Here's a poem I'd like to share with you this morning:
Today is the day that I most like the best, I was up all night and couldn't get any rest. With the presents all plundered from underneath our tree, it's now off to my mother's so we must flee. At my mom's more presents await you and me, as we tore open the boxes, "what'd you get", "oh look", "let me see"! Then to the dining room to eat the Christmas feast, we detroyed that turkey like a herd of wild beasts. As I reclined in my chair all stuffed like a pillow, I began to sob and weep like a willow. Why? My wife had just told me, "don't get comfy in your seat, we now had to go to her mom's to eat". While we were there I piled it in, I prayed to God, "forgive me of this sin". So we finally finished our family rounds, it was back to our house where I could lay down. After a long day of trying to decide whether to GEE or to HAW let me close this by saying Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to ALL!
