The Dairy Queen in Soldotna is a great once a month spot. Then flame broiled double cheeseburg's are to die for! If we did get a new one up here I'd like a White Castle please!
Arby's got old, McDonalds got old, Taco Bell got old, Burger King got old, KFC got old, Pizza Hut got old...and all pretty quickly. I do miss the Sizzlers Steak House we used to have in Soldotna some times. Now I just stick to the Chinese restraunts and an occasional DQ if I'm eating out.

I thought about opening a Sonic franchise in Ketchikan. Then I watched how fast Burger King went out of business(it's a video rental store now). Plus how do you keep those foot long chili chesse coney's dry when it's raining?

Burger King went out of business on POW as well. I never went in the place but a couple of teenage girls who worked there told me that the manager was a sick freak that tried to make them wear really low cut shirts. Oh yeah...guess I was in there once since one of the girls was my niece and I wanted to tell the manager a few things about the law.

Someone found a condom in their burger at the local burger king here (not joking, I'm serious, the guy who found it is a cousin of mine's boyfriend).

That reminds me of what I overheard a couple of kids talking about a few years ago. They were employed at a taco bell or some place like that and they were discussing some of the gross things they did to the food--I won't post them here....

I've probably heard of everything being done to food at those kinds of places...

Sometimes it actually gives the food flavor that it never had before.

I think Rance, Metlakatla, and stiffnecked know what they are talking about. If a fast food is going to survive someone has got to eat there.
Expecting that in many places is simply pie-in-the-sky.
There are places I like to eat but I know enough to know, if I want their food I go to them, they won't come to me.
Samuels Grand Manor in Clarence/Williamsville, New York comes to mind. The best, absolutely the BEST thanksgiving buffet I have EVER had. I'll get back there one day, it's on my list of things to do before I die.

During tourist season try the "Halibut Shack" on the dock in Ketchikan. Also Burger Queen on the otherside of the tunnel is another good choice in the 1st City.
