Ok, let's not rag on us old farts! As a state AK is just a baby, let's hope she (or is a state considered a he ) never loses her innocence, I want a chance to live in the beauty before the powers that be try to make it into the -48 with it's malls and Starbucks. Happy Birthday to you all!

I've made a decision with regards to my birthday this year. See, I turn 39. I've decided that is the last birthday. Each year following, I will celebrate the anniversary of my 39th birthday!

Hummmmm, I was either in fifth or sixth grade, in the small town of Waverly Tennessee, lived there for about a year and a half, anyway, I remember well when Alaska and Hawaii joined the union. Now, I can't remember if the old flag had eight rows of six stars or six rows of eight stars, I remember wondering what the new flag would look like. Happy Anniversary Alaska!!! At the time, Alaska seemed like it was on the other side of the world, I guess it is still a perspective thing, to some people it still is, like the British for example.
