Ill be coming around May to June
I cant wait, I am in the army right now currently stationed in Korea. Its ok but i think i will like alaska much more. I ll be stationed at Fort Wainwright. So ill be in Fairbanks. I chose alaska as my next assignment, because of what i see of it through pictures, movies ,and word of mouth. It looks so beautiful and clean, unlike korea! lol... Im a big wildlife person too. If anyone could give me some info on Fairbanks, Wainwright, and Alaska in general, I would great appriciate it. And another thing, Bear Hunting, What are the fees, is it easy to get a license for it. Whats the nightlife like?
Im 22 , from new jersey and a single soldier.
THanks!

Welcome, stay out of the nightlife in Fairbanks and you'll be fine. We read too many stories about soliders getting in trouble at the bars and taverns. Go to church, find you a nice girlfriend, get a hobby, grow a garden, go gold prospecting on your time off, take moose and bear pictures, anything but the booze.

That sounds like sound advice for everyone, not just young soldiers!

I have a soldier in Korea, Osan Airforce Base, and from what he has described, you should be in your glory here, will be like a working vacation and not near as stressful and crazy...Good choice, but dum question...are they considering this overseas tour for you??
