Soldotna, Kenai, Sterling- mojo... (live, stores, cabin)

Hi there,

I've been looking for this all over the boards, but I can't find any information on the mojo of Kenai penn. towns.
You know, what is it like? Conservative, hippy, nice blend, none of the above, shut up and find out for yourself?

I ask because a friend of mine is trying to convince me to go there (near Soldotna) for a while to help him build his cabin, and I'm curious, as I've only ever been to Southeast Alaska. I'm sure it is beautiful, has great outdoor recreation and all that, but I'd like to know about the mojo!

All in all it's a great place. I've lived in Sterling nearly all my life. Recreation activities are endless if you like the outdoors. And the fishing is phenominal.

I know there is one place in Soldotna along the Spur Highway. Some sort of healthfood store.
