Geez, the wind was crazy. Certainly didnt get alot of sleep last night it was so loud. Then the police called at 6am to say school was cancelled today

And it isn't over...supposed to be just as windy tomorrow, if not more, and rain all night. Want to wager a bet school may be cancelled again tomorrow?

Three days in a row? That would be almost unprecedented I think. At least since 1964. I could be wrong but I sure don't remember three days in a row of weather related school closures.

Considering it's a Friday, I'd figure the teachers would be begging for it...using winds and rain as an excuse

Los Anchorage is becoming as wimpy as the lesser-48. I drove into Anchorage every day this week without any problems. It gets a little slick when you get to Anchorage, but that is NORMAL for this time of year.

Everyone was inching along, afraid to drive faster than 40 mph, on the way out to the Valley this afternoon. It was 40°F+, no ice on the roads, just wet from rain and road spray. What a bunch of wimps!
