Bud I saw a big one about 15 years ago on Swanson River Road north of Sterling. My Dad saw a cat just 2 days prior on the same Feuding Lane. One resident out there said they saw it eyeballing their cat which was fenced in their yard.
The one I saw didn't have a collar. When I called fish and game they said they had had 15 calls that week about a mountain lion in Sterling.
I'd imagine they get to roaming and end up here.

Here in SoCal 10's of thousands of people would be locking up their poodles and avoiding their bike trials for the next month out of fear of this kitty. Imagine if a brown bear was spotted???? BTW this really is not an exageration

Here neither...I had them in Wyoming too, like HL in my yard, because if not mud, was silty, flourly dirt and could see tracks....Keep dogs in, cats in, don't go out far from an outside lite after dark....
