Why is it that half of the gun incidents I see involve alcohol? I am SURE I was never that stupid. Aside from losing a few days in a haze here and there, coming home with women who made me feel awful after the fact, losing the bar where I parked my car, inciting a guy twice my size and just generally running my mouth, I am positive I wasn't that foolish.

Pretty sure, anyway. Of course, I never played with guns while I was boozing. I think I only went skiing drunk as far as danger was concerned. I can't remember a lot of evenings though. Maybe I was that stupid.

I had a long story written out about an elk hunting trip at midnight one time, but in retrospect I think I'll keep it to myself and just say "I'd never do anything that stupid".

Booze great...well to a point.

The problem with booze is that after just a few drinks you pass the point where you can make intelligent choices.

Just because you know mixing booze and guns is a bad idea, after you reach a certain point you can't make a decent decision about it.

I grew up where I saw lots of alcohol problems. A good portion of my friends did not make it past 30 because of booze. Several got shot, a couple drowned, other accidents did in the rest. It made me wary of booze. I don't have a problem with a couple drinks but more than that can become dangerous depending on the situation.

Yeah, I quit drinkin several years ago, can't say that everytime I got drunk I also got stupid, but, every time I got REALLY stupid, I was drunk.

Sounds like your my brother from a different mother, Dusty. I haven't had a drink in 23 years, but I never made a sane decision while I was drunk. I'd say when I was drinking, but if I was drinking, I was drunk.
