ADN is posting a photo from down in Homer of the eruption. Someone finally got a partial glimpse, looks pretty spectacular. Redoubt isn't the only thing about to blow it's top here in Anchorage if these damn clouds don't clear up soon!

I saw that one from Homer, I was surprised at how white it looked.

It is clouding up a bit more, but just went out and looked at the car (white one) and no signs of anything on that yet. Moved the truck out of my way so I don't have to start it again just in case. There is a sulphur, smoky odor in the air, but not bad....is 3:07...where is it? supposed to be done at 4... right?

Cool photo.
Ash cloud seen in the geostationary MTSAT data, courtesy of the National Weather Service. We are at the extreme edge of the view for the satellite which is over the equator in Asia.

Volcanic tremor has increased in the past half hour. Clear views at the Hut web camera show a large steam plume. Radar data indicate there may be some ash in this plume. There has not been a large explosion since this morning's large eruption at 9:24AM.
