There are plenty of animals surrounding Bethel. Don't know where Jason got this from for only living here for two years. There are plenty of gardens up here, the most famous one belongs to Tim Meyers. Here is an article on him.

wow, I sure hope you aren't currently employed there neenrn... I agree that YK can look dirty compared to some modern hospitals, and unattended children crawling on the floors of the waiting area is unsanitary, and that some of their providers have a screw loose, but I've also had great experiences with certain people and delivered 3 babies at YK and had generally positive things to say about it.

First:
Not to be like "rawr duplicate thread" or anything, but we DO have an entire thread dedicated to Bethel, which this could have fit into a little better.
Then again... I love the Bethel attention so maybe more new threads will get us a subforum

Second:
Currently I pay 1100 for Food, Water, Internet, TV, Sewage, and family including a father that cooks and is one of the most intelligent men I know. Mind you, its more like a boarding house... so you share the bathrooms, we have some "house rules" but nothing that would be all that different than your own house. If you do plan on coming in for a few days tell me and I will see about setting you up with a room just to stay and see if you want to stay here. I also don't know how the price would work for 2 people in a place like this... so you have to consider that... but I like it.

I am not sure if there are other boarding houses around Bethel?

I love Bethel (but don't tell anyone, because I still say I hate it)... Its beautiful.. even that ugly tundra is growing on me (I don't know what is happening to me). The people are wonderful... and it has warptman, which was my reason for moving here

this thread is old... check the start date. somebody just put up a post hating on YK so I thought I'd reply. (and no, nobody in my family is employed at YK. :-) )
