When you want to keep the food odors down and not do excess cooking so as not to attract unwelcomed wildlife you might consider canned bacon.

Just to be safe, a camp should be divided into three distinct areas, with each area at least 50 feet apart from the other. In one area you have your camp fire and do your cooking and eating. In the second area you keep your food slung between two trees at least 15 feet off the ground. In the third area you have your tent, sleeping bags, and the rest of your gear.

Clean all pots/pans and dishes immediately after use, secure all food when not being used, and don't bring any food into the area where you sleep.

Keep a clean camp and you will attract fewer critters looking for an easy meal.
