Default It's official....moving to Barrow

It is finally official. I recieved the formal job offer from Samuel Simmonds today.....woohoo!!!! Now I just have to figure out when exactly I want to move. I wish I could leave tomorrow.

However, we have many tasks ahead of us here to accomplish prior to moving. We have vehicles to sell, furniture to unload, etc.

I can't believe it is real. I have always dreamed of moving to Alaska but never thought I would get the opportunity. Isn't life grand?

Thanks for listening to my questions, offering advice, and making me feel welcome. You have not heard the last of me.

Sherry

Right now I can not wipe the grin off of my face. I am so excited! I am calling everybody. Even people that think I am absolutely crazy for moving to Alaska are excited for me. I think I have convinced them that I am serious about this.

I am sure there will be many trials and tribulations planning for such an extreme move. From tha Arizona desert to the Arctic tundra.....who woulda thunk?

Great news, congrats.

I think Barrow will be a wonderful place for you, I think you'll like it here. Winter has been a blast. I've met a number of recent transplants, like myself.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Brian

Don't forget the post-it notes tag everything that doesn't move........just make sure the right pile gets sold, or kept, or donated. Don't want to arrive with your old summer clothes and find out the family is sitting in a box at the Goodwill back home........

Congrats! It will certainly be a change from AZ that's for sure. Hopefully you really enjoy it. There are a few Barrow residents on the board so at least you know you are getting accurate info about the place.

Good advice. Keep track of things.

I thought I was bringing my full CD case with a bunch of CD's. Discovered I brought an empty one and have no idea where the full one went. Thought I was bringing a bunch of blank CD's. But when I went to get a blank once I got here, I found some very old software CD's (useless) and no blanks.
Also thought I had a bunch of jeans packed up. Turned out I had a bunch of too small dress pants in the suitcase. At least I was able to give those away in Mass. But now I don't have enough jeans.

At least those were the only mix-ups. That I'm aware of.

Okay, start working in Barrow on May 27th. Now what the h*ll do I do with all my treasures down here? I know. Sell the furniture, and bring the books, computers, cameras, and clothes.

Where are you Floyd? haven't seen any posts in a few days. I do hope you are okay.
