I have been keeping my mouth shut in regards to your arrogant attitude Satch, but I have had enough.
For far too long this nation has been alienating itself from other countries, mainly due to people with your attitude. We are just now beginning to gain some respect from other nations after 8 years Bush’s terror threats and torture.

Well, you are definitely in the minority. Most Americans could give a rat's ass about what the rest of the world thinks and I most wholeheartedly agree. Obama is a naive fool and it's already been proven only 60 days into his term. Iran and the Taliban have told him to take a flying leap after his pathetic overtures. You don't negotiate with people like that. You eliminate them.
Torture? Grab a clue chief. Water-boarding isn't torture and I'm darn glad that they did it to those dirtbags. It provided valuable information. Those pieces of sh*t would happily chop our heads off and you're worried about if they are a bit uncomfortable? Give me a break.
I suggest you open your eyes and quit drinking the leftist Kool Aid.

Actually Satch, you SHOULD care what the rest of the world thinks about us.....have you forgotten that we actually DO need allies??? By the way, I find it interesting that there are certain political topics that are able to be talked about here on the Alaska forum, but others are deleted or closed...strange.

I'm a lifelong conservative republican who voted for Obama- and not because I have a messiah complex like some of the dimwits out there...In case you haven't noticed, the GOP hasn't exactly solved anything... it's time for something new.
And all politics aside, I can respect and listen open-mindedly to any opinion that is backed up with valid facts from reputable sources. Blogs, chain emails, youtube videos, online "newsmagazines" that are actually editorials disguised as "news" are NOT valid, reputable sources.
I am very confused as to why so many seemingly intelligent people take these "sources" as truth. This past year has caused a lot of people to lose their minds, I think.  |

I am with you Neph...I went with Bush because I have a kid in the military, but even he has gone the other direction and he intends to stay in....this more gun, more ammo crap.. makes me ill....people that go overboard for no apparent reason have more to hide than most with half a brain...then we go from there  |

I fully support the NRA and our 2nd amendment rights. And I know the reason behind it is to give citizens the power to overthrow our government.
However, I can't help but think our forefathers weren't imagining AK-47s when they gave us the right to bear arms.
