That's sad those dogs died, especially freezing to death.

The dogs that died were flown off for an autopsy right away. This does show that Alaska cares, they want to find out what really happened. There is no need for PETA to get involved.

Now you can all defend "Alaskans' rights" to let their dogs freeze to death. Woo hoo. Ain't we just so big and bad.
Not sure what happened but I'd say if the animals died, it warrants an investigation. Too bad PETA had to stick their noses in; they give any cause less credence just by their presence.

Thanks; I'm glad for that at least.
But if those dogs froze to death the owner should face criminal charges.

My understanding with the dogs that froze, is that the owner was truly trying to keep them warm. It sounds like they were in one of the worst places for the cold and wind at the time. It does sound like he did all he could...though it is very sad.
I do hope that more true comes out about it though. But, still, I don't think PETA is needed.

I don't think that PETA is needed either.
It's probably true that he tried to keep them warm, but I still am in favor of an investigation.

Good, I'm glad PETA is bringing it to people's attention. If dogs died in the race then the owners should face cruelty charges.
The Iditarod is no better than greyhound racing.

So everyone in the states should get charged for harming dogs? I'm sure that there are drug dealers out there that they should be going after instead of a dog team.
