Are You Wondering why Sporty's never has ammo...?
I found this answer for y'all...
Quote:
Well I was in last night again hoping that they had recieved a supply of reloading components, again I was dissapointed. I talked with an employee at the gun counter I know. Basically I said WHEN ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO GET ANYTHING IN
So a 12 second question turned into about a 10 minute response.
Long and short, SW has finally announced to their employees and (as far as I know) to the public what is up.
Basically they are closing about 45% of their stores, selling roughly 30% of them to a Canadian firm, and they are retaining the other 25%. This was purely a cost cutting measure and they are having significant liquidity issues currently.
Stores being closed:
Aurora, CO Coon Rapids, MN DePere, WI Henderson, NV Lafayette, IN Las Cruces, NM Las Vegas, NV Legacy, TX Memphis, TN Nampa, ID
New Berlin, WI Oklahoma City, OK Pittsburgh, PA Pocatello, ID Roanoke, VA Rogers, AR Round Rock, TX St. Cloud, MN Sioux Falls, SD
Southaven, MS Visalia, CA Wichita, KS Woodbury, MN
Stores being sold:
Bend, OR Bozeman, MT Burlington, WA Coeur dAlene, ID Fargo, ND Federal Way, WA Helena, MT Kennewick, WA Lacey, WA
Missoula, MT Portland, OR Salem, OR Silverdale, WA Spokane, WA Vancouver, WA
So the good news is 1) The store is not being sold to a company with unkown feelings about guns and 2) The store is not being closed.
Now for the bad news..... SW still has some major money issues so until those are cleared up they will not be getting supplies back in like they used to be for a while. Obviously there is a supply issue with some items, but if you look nationally, powder is getting easy to get again.
So, hopefully in the not too great future, we will have a moderately stocked store again and will have access to what we need

combine the two
Hey, I know. Lets combine the two and cover most of the bases for true Alaska sportsmen. You could get current sectional charts, a couple boxes of .338 Win Mag ammo, a new headset, and reloading componants all in the same place!

Well that explains why the Grill God couldn't get any reloading supplies and why when I went to pick-up some 44 Mag ammo they only had 380 auto..
