A preliminary report of a 4.7 magnitue earthquake just hit Wasilla about an hour ago. All I know for now.

Yep, that was a good one. Very interesting in that I could feel the ground gently rolling for a few seconds then BAM, the really sharp jolt hit. After the excitement I ran to the window to see if it was Redoubt but no, just a "plain ole" quake. Just as well anyway since the mountain is still obscured by clouds from here.

There was a stronger one in Russia earlier this morning too. Hmm - is that "ring of fire" fixin' for a big one? Better take the nic nacs off the shelves and locate your safe place just in case.

I was on break at work. At first I thought it was just my chair, then others started asking if anyone felt it. It had a good swaying to it.

I came off night shift this am, and my longstanding reputation of sleeping thru significant events continues I slept thru the Johnstown Flood of 1977, too.....
Also slept thru both our cars getting totaled in our front yard once, too.
