Alaska weather??
I am planning a trip to Alaska. Just wondering what the average temperature in Alaska is during early May. It’s important for me to know how the weather will be so in order to pack my bags accordingly.
Help please.

Well, all depends. For example, there is a good possibility that it will be from warm to cool around Fairbanks, but if you are standing anywhere at the Homer Spit at Homer (or at Seward) early in the morning, you will get cold. We still have from two to three feet of snow (some are snow drifts) on on our backyard near Fairbanks. The Arctic Man takes place by Summit Lake this week, and in that area you can still see lots of ice off the road sometimes by mid June.
My recommendation is to pack some lightweight synthetic and packable sweater and pile cap just in case, and also a rain jacket you can wear over it if raining. My wife has insulated rain jackets, and these work very well when needed.

Alex2009 is right, Alaska is a big state, which includes a lot of different weather patterns. Knowing where in Alaska you will be will allow us to be more specific as far as what kind of weather you can expect.

This site will give you historical temperatures for different areas of the state. You should always plan for some rain and hope it doesn't.

Dont worry about the weather, just pack up the banana hammock and get on over here. Its usually upper 90's in the summer.
