Credit card fraud is not as big a danger as is made out to be provided you take basic precautions which are:
a) Check your account online every couple of days (even better, every day) for any unauthorized charge.
b) Place a credit freeze with all the 3 credit reporting agencies (this is a precaution against identity theft).
c) Never fall for any phishing scams (always check the URL field in the browser before entering personal data).
The better credit card companies already have in-built fraud detection and will automatically put a hold on the account if suspicious activity is detected. You are also fully protectecd against unauthorized charges.

Trust me, not only credit card, but bank card if out of the country especially....When my son moved from TX to MN...he was using his bank card and they put halt on it causing many overdraft fees because he did not tell them he was moving. When we came up here, put halt on cards because we didn't notify as soon as we hit Canada...in other words...alert whomever with card before you leave, I forgot about that one after sitting on phone with menus...in lulu land....

Deb even when you do tell your card provider that you'll be using the card out of the country they may try pulling a fast one on you.

Just don't click on websites ending in .cc or .cn, as they are 99% of the time going to try to screw with you.

I belong to a credit union & when I got a new debit card to go to Malaysia, I had no problems....except my bag was stolen, along w/the debit card dangit while I was there! But my credit union is cool, I've never had any problems w/them & I've been a member since '96. So what's going on here, some of you guys are getting offensive rep comments? Or is it DM's?

I got one that said, " Just Be an a.s.s is more like it." I think it was a reference to Highland Lady & Grill God's board, Just Be. It was left anonymously for me.

Yikes, that's tame, Barkely. But it increased your rep since neg. points are no longer allowed here.
From what I saw there was some slamming of some members here so maybe it's to be expected.
